Student safety is paramount to all IFR activities. Students attending international programs are provided comprehensive health insurance through GeoBlue (see below) and Political and Natural Disaster Evacuation Insurance as part of tuition costs. In addition, students are enrolled in the US State Department STEP program. IFR staff monitor constantly conditions at the field sites and will cancel a program if conditions are unsafe. Finally, IFR has on-call staff 24/7 when students are in the field. Staff may be reached by calling or using WhatsApp to contact the main IFR number.
