Overview

Dig into the origins of humans at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kromdraai in South Africa! Journey into this fossil-rich site to unravel the environmental and ecological conditions that shaped the emergence of early human occupation in Africa approximately 2 million years ago. Research at this site has the rare opportunity to unearth unique fossils, each with the potential to rewrite parts of our evolutionary story. Utilize cutting-edge archaeological findings from the Kromdraai cave with innovative methods such as aerial imagery, 3D modeling, and detailed paleoecological and paleontological analysis. Each day offers the chance to make new discoveries, connect with ancient history, and deepen understanding of our shared origins.
