Overview
Conduct hands-on environmental research along the stunning coast of Sardinia, Italy, where you’ll dive into the world of marine ecology and dolphin conservation. This short-term study abroad program offers you the unique opportunity to participate in groundbreaking research assessing human impacts on the local dolphin population. You’ll engage in two key research projects: one focused on using acoustic technology to measure dolphin interactions with small-scale fisheries, and the other on understanding how leisure boating noise affects dolphin communication. Through this hands-on experience, you’ll gain valuable fieldwork and lab skills, deepen your understanding of marine mammal behavior, and contribute to the development of sustainable management practices for these critical ecosystems.
